Today I am come up with a very new effect of Adobe Photoshop CS5, which is called in simple and understanding language “Rough Paper Effect“. We only need Adobe Photoshop (any CS* version) and some basic skills. This effect can use several places as you want.
Well! lets take a look what we gonna create today using Adobe Photoshop.
Step 1:
Lets create a new document. Go to File > New (Ctrl+N) and put some big size (1600px x 1200px)
Step 2:
Now select Gradient Tool (G) and made some changes in Control Panel;
- Gradient Color: Black and white
- Color Mode : Linear Gradient
- Mode : Difference
And put some gradient on the workspace anonymously, as you can see in the following image. I put gradient on the same layer about 1o to 14 time for the following effect, but remember if you need the accurate results then you must select mode Difference.
Step 3:
After playing with gradient now lets put some real effect. Now go to Filter > Stylize > Emboss and make some following changes in Emboss option box.
- Angle: 135 degree
- Height: 5 px
- Amount: 200%
and then OK.
Step 4:
Now create a new layer (Shift+Ctrl+Alt+N), select the Overlay mode and set the Opacity 70%. Now again we use Gradient Tool (G) but this time our gradient will be changed as you can see in the following image.
Step 5:
Now put the above gradient on the layer 1. And lets create a new layer (Shift+Ctrl+Alt+N) again. Now set Linear Dodge (Add) and Opacity 100% but the Fill down this time to 25%. And put the same gradient from up to downward on the layer 2 as you can see in the (Tag #8).
Step 6:
Lets give it a final touch, select the very first layer which is named as Background by default. Go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur and set the Gaussian blur radius 3.0px and then hit the OK button.
Final:
Now I hope you can see the final results very clearly. I suppose you enjoy this tutorial and mark your comments to believe that you like my work.
