This is the next part of our previous tutorial Film Can, Reel and Clapper Board Vector Tutorial in Illustrator CS5 – Part I. In this tutorial we will learn how to create Clapper Board Vector in Adobe Illustrator CS5.
Now lets begin, let me show you the final result before continue the tutorial. Please take a look at the following image then we start.

Step 1:
First of all we need to create a new Artboard. Go to File > New (Ctrl+N) and a new document popup box will appear and ask for document setting. You can use any page size (It doesn’t really matter) personally I use 1280px x 1280px.

Step 2:
Lets start creating Clapper Board with the selection of Rectangle Tool (M). When you click on the artboard rectangle popup box will appear and ask for width and height. You can use 503px x414px.Then press OK. Our next step is to put some gradient in that rectangle box from down to upward direction. You can see the gradient setting in below image:-
- Gradient on left side : 20.22
- Gradient on right side : 90.14

Step 3:
Create another rectangle using 503px width and 50px height, we will use this rectangle to create upper area of Clapper Board. Create one more box using 45px width and 100px height and then go to Effect > Distort & Transform > Transform. Now you need to make some changes in Transform Effect Box an you can see these changes in following image (no. 7).

Step 4:
Our next move is to shear these standing rectangle boxes into slanted shape. Just click on Shear Tool (S) and shear option box will appear. Lets make some changes in shear option box:-
- Shear Angle : -20 degree
- Axis : horizontal
and then click OK. Now go to Object > Expand Appearance.

Step 5:
Move these slanted rectangles onto laid rectangle. Use some gradient on these slanted rectangles, as you can see in the following image. Now Copy (Ctrl+C) laid rectangle and Paste (Ctrl+F) in front and bring this layer to the slanted rectangle. Now go to Object > Clipping Mask > Make.

Step 6:
Now you can see the refine upper area of Clapper Board. Our next turn is to make lower area using reflection. Group (Ctrl+G) this upper area, after right clicking on this layer you will see some options. Select Transform > Reflect> Horizontal Axis and then press OK.

Step 7:
Now we will create another part of Clapper Board using Rounded Rectangle Tool and select the following options in the image (no. 15). Now select the Direct Selection Tool (A) and move right bottom anchor points little forward as you can see in the highlighted area (no. 16).

Step 8:
Copy (Ctrl+C), Paste (Ctrl+F) this part and make some dark gradient. See the following image (no. 17).
- NOTE : Make 2 rounded rectangles and one of them is 1px smaller in size from the other one.

Step 9:
Select the Ellipse Tool (L) and follow the following image (no. 18, 19 & 20) to create the screw illustration.

Step 10:
Group (Ctrl+G) the screw effect layers and create 2 more. Put them on the following image shape and you can see the final result.

Finally:
Now you can see the result of our previous work with Clapper Board in the following image.
