Colorful Abstract Background in Photoshop CS5

Lets talk about colorful background effect which is created in Adobe Photoshop CS5 using some filters. This abstract background effect mostly using these days in web layouts to attract the attention.

The following image is showing the demonstration of our tutorial.

Step 1:

Go to File > New (Ctrl+N) and create a new document as you can see in the following image.

Step 2:

Now switch default colors by pressing “D” from your keyborad or simply select Black color to forground and white color to background. And then go to Filter > Render > Clouds.

Step 3:

Now Click again Filter > Pixelate > Mezzotint. And when Mezzotint popup box appear select Type : Short Lines and press OK.

Step 4:

Now again click on Filter > Pixelate > Mosaic and select Cell Size 70 Square and finally press OK. We have done with our effect now lets fill some colors to look it more beautiful.

Step 5:

Now create another layer and select Gradient (G) and select multicolor gradient and put this gradient on the 2nd layer as you can see in the following image.

Step 6:

Now our final step is to change the mode of the color layer. Select “Overlay” mode as you can see the following image.
